"A young man from Harlem, forced to cope with his community’s booming drug scene, builds an illegal empire, only to have a crisis of conscience."  The feature film debut of director Charles Stone III, "Paid in Full" is inspired by the true story of narcotic kingpins' AZ, Rich Porter, and Alpo ascent to power in 1980s Harlem.

The characters Ace (Wood Harris), Mitch (Mekhi Phifer) and Rico (Cam'ron), respectively, are based on these men and their exploits.

The title of the film is taken from the 1987 album and 1987 song by Eric B. & Rakim.

The 1992 crime thriller "Juice" is the feature debut of cinematographer/director Ernest R. Dickerson.

It explores the day to day lives of four teenage friends who spend their days hanging out and looking for a way to get the power and respect they call "juice" while growing up in Harlem. The youth’s values, and friendship, are tested as they navigate conflicts such as police harassment, neighborhood violence, and eventually - a robbery gone wrong.

In addition to the acting debut of Tupac Shakur the film features performances from Omar Epps Khalil Kain, and Samuel L. Jackson, and cameo appearances from a host of early 90s hip-hop icons such as Queen Latifah and Doctor Dré.
